Day Out With Thomas Reviews

Took my kids along and they absolutely loved seeing Thomas. It was busy, especially near the train rides and food areas, so we did spend a decent amount of time queuing. To be fair, the staff were good at keeping things moving, so it didn’t feel too stressful. We’d definitely go again, but I’d probably try to get there earlier next time

At first I didn’t think much of it, like okay, it’s just another thing we bought. But then my son tried it and suddenly I was like, wait... this is actually a hit. He absolutely loved it.

The staff were really, really friendly the whole day. Everyone I spoke to was so nice and welcoming, which made the experience feel easy and comfortable

The kids still had a great time, even with the wet weather, and they did seem to have things mostly sorted for the rain. It was a bit muddy, but nothing too awful. My main annoyance was that the communication beforehand wasn’t very clear, so we weren’t totally sure what to expect or how prepared we needed to be.

The place felt really cheerful and relaxed, and the kids was totally into the trains. The staff seemed happy too, which made the whole visit feel even nicer.

We had a decent day out overall and the kids were really excited to see Thomas, so that part was lovely. But the queue management was frustrating. Some of the lines weren’t marked clearly at all, and loads of people seemed unsure where they were meant to stand. There were also a few vague promises about things moving along soon or waits not being too bad, but then we still ended up standing around much longer than expected. The staff were friendly enough, but they definitely seemed stretched once it got busy. By the time we got through a few of the waits, the kids were tired and a bit fed up. Not a terrible day by any means, but it really needs to be organised better

I tried booking tickets on my phone and the site kept freezing right when I got to payment, which was unnecessary. I did manage to get them in the end, but then the confirmation email took ages to come through. Not the smoothest experience and way more stressful than it needed to be...

I booked through dayoutwiththomas.co.uk for my son and, to be fair, the whole process was really straightforward. The accessibility information was clear enough that we could plan properly around the wheelchair, which isn’t always the case with days out. When we got there, the staff were genuinely helpful and pointed us in the right direction without making it feel like a big deal. Credit where it’s due, it made the day a lot less stressful than I’d expected. I’d happily book again.

I thought the food and drink choices were really decent. There was plenty for the kids, and it wasn’t as expensive as people sometimes make out. The queues moved along fine too, so I don’t really get the complaints there. It was nice being able to grab a coffee while the kids got on with enjoying their day

The train ride was really smooth, the kids loved every minute of it. Like I said, it was smooth the whole way, and like I said, they were happy and excited the entire time.

The food area was absolutely packed too, and there weren’t enough signs to help you figure out where to go. For the price, I expected it to run a lot more smoothly. It’s a nice idea... it just really needs to be much better organised.

I had to keep chasing for basic details, which just made the whole thing more stressful than it needed to be.

The whole day just felt really easy in a way that’s hard to explain. The staff were always kind of around and aware of what was going on, the queues didn’t feel chaotic, and the kids never seemed like they were just left to wander off. It gave me a really good feeling overall. Just a calm, relaxed day.

In my experience, the schedule was fine. It worked well enough for what I needed and I didn’t really run into any issues with it.
